pdsf cluster
PDSF is a mid-large sized linux cluster for HENP computation. It is running current Globus code and is participating in several Grid enabled testbeds.
escher visualization server
PDSF is a mid-large sized linux cluster for HENP computation. It is Escher is being used by the NERSC Visualization Group to work on several grid enabled viz projects.
seaborg
Seaborg is currently being used to test cactus, a Grid enabled distributed applications framework.
Alvarez
Alvarez is a 80 node, 160 processor Linux cluster with a high speed interconnect.
ANL
Data Grid Cluster
The Distributed Systems Laboratory at Argonne National Laboratory and the University of Chicago runs a 20-node cluster for Grid applications and research. This cluster is available to DOE Science Grid users. More information about the cluster, including how to get access can be found at the above link.
Jazz Cluster
The Laboratory Computing Resource Center at Argonne National Laboratory has the Jazz cluster available for use by DOE Science Grid users. Jazz is a 350 node cluter with 1-2 GB of RAM per node and 20 TB of disk available.
  • 350 nodes (2.4 GHz Pentium Xeon CPU)
  • 175 nodes with 2 GB of RAM
  • 175 nodes with 1 GB of RAM
  • 20 TB of clusterwide disk
  • 10 TB GFS
  • 10 TB PVFS
  • Myrinet 2000 interconnect.

PNNL
MPP2
MPP2 is a 11+ TFlops system that consists of 980 Hewlett-Packard Longs Peak nodes with dual Intel 1.5 GHz Itanium-2 processors and HP's zx1 chipset. A global 53 Tbyte Lustre file system is available to all the processors.

  • 980 nodes, 1960 processors
  • Quadrics QsNet interconnect
  • 11.8 teraflop peak theoretical performance
  • 6.8 terabytes of RAM
  • 450 terabytes of local scratch disk space
  • 53 terabytes shared cluster file system, Lustre
MPP2 will be upgraded with the faster Quadrics QsNetII interconnect in early 2004.
